Aphrodisiac: The Art of Desire brings together works filled with color, intimacy, imagination and pleasure.
Desire takes many forms:
The beauty of the human body.
The anticipation of touch.
Lingering glance.
Sunlight on skin...
Intimacy, fantasy, connection and the simple pleasure of being alive.
This was only a glimpse. But it was enough to remind us of the quiet power of desire.
Throughout the exhibition, bodies, gestures, color, suggestion, imagination, and what is left unseen create their own tension.
Some works are playful. Some intimate. Some openly sensual. Others reveal desire in quieter ways.
At the center of the exhibition is a new collection of artworks by Gee Gee Collins, including The Muses of Eros, 7 Lovers, Ecstasy, Pussycat, and Hidden Pleasure.
