Mandy Rogers Horton is a painter and mixed media artist based in Nashville, TN. Her current body of art reflects the ongoing construction of our lives and culture from eclectic and disparate sources.

Mandy earned her MFA from American University in Washington D.C. She also studied at Anderson University, IN, The Queen's University of Belfast, and The Chautauqua Institute, NY.

In 2010, a few small experiments with collage opened up what now seem like endless possibilities of form and content for Rogers Horton.

The images she collected from magazines and catalogs serve as a vocabulary to negotiate desire, identity, and a search for meaning in her work.

"These fragments stitched together from varied origins afford tenuous inconsistencies as well as unexpected beauty." - Mandy Rogers Horton

In her two-dimensional work, the process of collage parallels the process of composing both our physical lives and world views with pre-existing forms, language, and ideas. These works include complex layers of collage, image transfer, and paint. Traces of the process are left visible as markers of the choices made.

Rogers Horton has shown her work in multiple exhibits across the country. She is the recipient of the Tennessee Arts Commission Professional Development Support Grant and a residency at The Vermont Studio Center. Her work has been featured in The Tennessean, Nashville Arts Magazine, and The Nashville Scene. Rogers Horton continues to live and work in Nashville with her husband, fellow artist Rocky Horton, and their children.
